Video: India’s GPS ‘NAVIC’ Was Made at the Cost of Rs 12 per Citizen
All you need to know about India's very own GPS.
India has become the fifth country in the world to have its own navigation system. Named NAVIC (Navigation With Indian Constellation), this system consists of seven satellites that were launched between July 2013 and April 2016. India is the fifth country after USA, European Union, China and Russia to have such system. This system will help sailors and fishermen to navigate the waters easily and prevent them from straying into foreign territory..
The total cost of the project is approximately Rs. 1,420 crores or Rs 12 per Indian citizen.
