Quick Action by Railway Officials Saves Life of 11-Month-Old Girl

Railway officials at Raipur railway station saved the life of an eleven-month-old girl after she suffered severe dehydration.

The quick action taken by railway officials at Raipur railway station in saving the life of an 11-month-old girl travelling by Hyderabad-Darbhanga Express on Friday won the hearts of fellow passengers.

The girl and her mother were travelling in coach S-7 when the baby faced severe dehydration due to excessive heat. On seeing this, railway officials on the train informed the control room at Raipur railway station and the train was stopped at Raipur.

A doctor was called and the infant was immediately taken to platform no. 5 by a battery operated car.

All this happened in a matter of 5-7 minutes and the train went ahead only after the girl received proper medical treatment.

The officials claim that if there was some more delay, then the girl’s condition would have deteriorated, as reported by Haribhoomi, a Raipur based newspaper.

The story went viral when Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu re-tweeted about it.

This is not the first time railway officials have helped passengers who needed medical help. In the last ten days, five passengers who needed doctors were provided proper medical treatment.
