In Canada, this Indian Restaurateur Gives the Needy Hot Meals for Free
An Indian restaurant in Canada is opening its doors to the needy, offering them free food.
An Indian restaurant in Canada is opening its doors to the needy, offering them free food.
Simple ideas translate into powerful actions. Parkash Chibber is proof of this.
Parkash Chibber is the founder and owner of ‘Indian Fusion: The Curry House’ an Indian restaurant in Edmonton, Canada. The restaurant is making waves in Canada, not only for its scrumptious food, but for its generosity.
Walk up to the back door of this restaurant and you will see a sign.
It reads:
“Dear friends,
If you are hungry and have no money to pay, just ring the bell below or come in for a free meal box/coffee anytime.”
“I thought, how many people can I go ask ‘Are you hungry? Are you hungry?’ It’s not possible. So I thought, why not put up a sign?,” Chibber told Canada’s CTV.
What’s more, people in need can choose from three options: a vegetarian meal, a non-vegetarian meal or even just milk and coffee!
“Please bring any allergy-dietary concerns to the attention of the server,” the thoughtful notice adds.
In a day and age when businesses are viewed as profit-obsessed, the actions of Indian Fusion come as a breath of fresh air.
But Parkash disagrees.
“I think I can do much more,” Parkash says, “I am already cooking food for people, so why not 10 more? I am not doing anything extra, this is my way of life.”
