VIDEO: Satire for the Soul – This Hilarious Parody Takes on the Self-Proclaimed Godmen of India

It is said that there is a very fine line between faith and delusion. And many self-proclaimed godmen, veiled behind the attires of spiritual gurus in India, are known to have cheated their followers every time this line is crossed.

That’s exactly what a parody video made by comedy collective Them Boxer Shorts portrays – the way many spiritual gurus in the country are trying to challenge logic and common sense by exploiting people’s beliefs. From comments on homosexuality to judgements on your choice of food – flick through TV channels or a newspaper and chances are that there will be some remarks on all such issues by the so called leaders of spirituality.

Starring popular comedians like Kanan Gill, Biswa Kalyan Rath and Abish Mathew among others, the parody brings to you the ‘Common Sense Commander’ who is defeated, the gay couple that is forced to become straight, and the Godman with his group of ‘culturally correct super friends’ – all in a hilarious and satirical way.
