Kalaripayattu helps the practitioner to gain mental peace, physical strength, and flexibility.
India is the land of a variety of art forms, Kalaripayattu being one of them. This ancient martial art form is probably the oldest in the world. Legend has it that this martial art form was taken to China by Buddhist monks and it was the model on which many other martial arts were formed. Bodhidharma, a Buddhist monk, had visited the southernmost part of Kerala, stayed there for a long period of time and learned Kalaripayattu.
Kalaripayattu helps the practitioner to gain mental peace, physical strength, and flexibility. The training includes exercises and combat techniques using daggers, sticks, sword, shields etc.
