Meet the Bus Conductor Who Uses WhatsApp to Ensure Passengers Are on Time
Shiju, the 39-year-old bus conductor, has taken the term 'public service' to another level.
There’s a bus conductor in Thiruvananthapuram who is loved by all his passengers. Do you know why? Because he has taken the term ‘public service’ to another level.
Shiju, a 39-year-old bus conductor from Thachottukavu, works in the Kerala Urban Road Transport Corporation Volvo bus which plies from Neyyatinkara to Technopark. He has gone the extra mile for his passengers by creating a WhatsApp group for regular commuters.
Shiju gives constant updates on the progress of the bus, right from start to the finish, to the members of this group.
The 50-odd passengers who travel in this bus on a regular basis just love him. And most people say they don’t need to leave too early from home, thanks to this good soul.
Rahul V.R., a regular commuter on this bus, says,”Shiju has a lot of things to do. He controls the AC, gives tickets, and also ensures that there is pleasant music playing on the bus. And in the midst of all of this, he still manages to post updates on the WhatsApp group.”
Rahul took to Facebook to describe his experience.
