Meet Shabana – A Cab Driver who Took Driving Lessons Secretly and is Trained in Martial Arts

Everyday, there are thousands of posts which go viral on the social media. But every now and then, there is that one post which makes us stop and think about things, and if we are lucky, inspire us, like Shabana did.

Everyday, there are thousands of posts which go viral on the social media. But every now and then, there is that one post which makes us stop and think about things, and if we are lucky, inspire us, like Shabana did.

Recently, a Facebook post has been doing rounds, and unlike most of its counterparts, this one is for a good reason.

I got to ride with a lady uber driver in Mumbai today. Her name is Shabana and she's been driving with Uber for a year….

Shabana is an example of a correct sense of feminism, one which propagates both genders as equal. The post has received a staggering amount of likes and has been shared multiple times, and this just goes to show the desire for such a change in India.

Although the number of women drivers, in Uber and otherwise, are still low, the digits are only increasing. Women are demanding equal opportunities and are assisting themselves to be independent. Just like Shabana did by receiving Martial Arts training. She is truly an example of a practical and self-sufficient individual. She wanted to be something and got the required credentials which would augment her chances of attaining that post.

We are thankful to Varun for sharing this post and inspiring so many girls out there. Shabana is truly someone worthy of being revered.
