Officials from the Agriculture Department are using tablets for recording problems being faced by farmers in West Bengal.
The tablets will be used to record issues of the farmers, their views and the hardships faced by them. The officials claim to have inputs from over 12,500 farmers so far.

The data is further sent to a central database, where it is later analyzed to find out the loopholes and extend support to the farmers.
The team has also set up 145 automated weather stations to measure data related to rainfall, temperature and soil moisture every 30 minutes.
The officials are further trying to see if these automated stations can be used in weather forecasting, eliminating the need to depend on the weather department.
