To promote the switch to alternative energy, Madhya Pradesh government has set up 38 wind energy projects in the state.
Wind energy projects of 456.3 MW were established in the state during the year 2014-15 with an objective of environment conservation and power generation from alternative sources of energy.
To expand this initiative, 38 wind energy projects of 820 MW have been set up so far. The state government is also focusing on initiating private investment in wind energy.
In addition to this, a further 147 wind energy projects of 6300 MW capacity will be set up in the state, whose work is currently in progress. The project has raised the interest of big companies like Gamesa, Inox Windworld, Suzlon, Hero, Renew Power and Region Power, who are setting up their projects in the state. Production of wind energy turbines is also proposed in the state.
