Three cheers to these amazing winners at an international wrestling tournament. These Indians gave the country four golds and we couldn’t be happier.
Indian wrestlers have once again made India proud by bagging four golds in an international wrestling tournament conducted by United World Wrestling on May 30th.
The winners include Yogeshwar Dutt in 65 kg category, Praveen Rana in 70kg category, Amit Kumar in 57 kg category and Narsingh Yadav in 74 Kg category of Men’s Freestyle.
The wrestlers gave their excellent performance at International Wrestling tournament in Sassari City, Italy. Other Indians that participated in the tournaments were Mausum Khatri (97kg) and Hitender (125kg).
In 2013, Yogeshwar had chosen to compete in the 65 kg category, climbing up from 60kg which had brought him a bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympics.
The decision was made after World Wrestling Federation introduced variations in the weight categories at the end of year 2013. Since the change in his category, Yogeshwar has won golds in four tournaments he has participated so far.
He had also won a gold in both the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the Incheon Asian Games in 2014.
