1. Walk for water: A walkathon by Smaat India – Hyderabad

A walk from L B Nagar Bus stop to L B Nagar Stadium (2 kms) from 7.30 am to 8:00 am and a half an hour cultural program showcasing the importance of safe water.

Smaat India Private Limited, the pioneer in provision of safe drinking water through world class, internationally award winning water purification and water management systems. As a national level partner in providing safe water solutions Smaat India has been serving Thousands of communities across India through water purification systems that provide sustainable, affordable and potable water supply.

In line with Smaat India’s objective and also on the occasion of World Water Day falling on the 22nd March, Smaat India is organising an event: ‘Walk for Water,‘ starting from L.B. Nagar Bus Stop till Saroonnagar Stadium, at 7.30 a.mHyderanad. V6 News, a leading Telangana news channel is partnering with Smaat India for this cause. The event’s focus is on the critical importance of safe water, its conservation and advocacy as a promoter of good health. One can find the event on Facebook and also RSVP/Register for the event.

2. DataKind – Bengaluru

DataKind Bangalore launched in August 2014 as one of the six chapters of DataKind harnessing the power of data science in the service of humanity.. They are building the Data-for-Good movement locally by bringing together collaborative teams of volunteer data scientists with mission-driven organizations on projects designed to address tough humanitarian challenges.

Their first DataDive is scheduled March 21-22 and volunteers with data skills of all types are invited to attend!! For this DataDive they are working with three amazing nonprofits that recently attended their Project Accelerator Night:

3. Adopt-a-Pet 2015 – Mumbai

The AAC hopes to raise awareness through an initiatives to promote the adoption of pets as opposed to purchasing them from breeders who breed animals for commercial purposes, many of whom use cruel and unsafe breeding methods. Through these initiatives, they hope to support these homeless animals and educate people on adoptions. More details.

4. World Theatre Day celebrations – Bengaluru

ASSITEJ has world-wide celebrations on World Theatre Day for Children in March . As a part of this celebrations, BLT has lined up a series of fun filled activities for children listed below:

  • Group singing
  • Film screenings

5. Jyoti Bhatt: Photographs from Rural India – Mumbai

Fueled by a desire to document the fast-disappearing traditions of folk and tribal cultures, Bhatt has been travelling across the nation for the last 50 years to produce these iconic photographs. Bhatt, trained as a painter at the M.S. University of Baroda, uses the camera for documentation as well as a means of self-expression. I hope you might consider it for a feature/event listing on Kyoorious online. The exhibition will be part of Mumbai’s Art Night Thursday. More details.
