From organic seeds to compostable pot, this DIY kit will help you grow your own tomatoes, cucumbers and more! #LiveGreen #GrowOrganic #EatHealthy
You cannot always trust the vegetables available in the market. Rarely do we know where the vegetables have been produced, the journey they have undertaken and the chemicals sprayed on them in the process. On the other hand, organic vegetables are not as easily available and in most cases, are quite expensive.
What’s the solution? Growing them in your own backyard is an easy one.
Yet, not everyone has the knack for nurturing a garden and some even find it to be quite a daunting task. But fret not, we have you covered with this Grow-It-Yourself (GIY) gardening kit from Upaj. Complete with cocopeat, seeds and an observation sheet, the kit will teach you how to grow your own veggies!
And a small kit costs just Rs 299!
How do beginners start a garden?
This kit makes gardening super easy for you. It comes with a detailed guide but here’s a brief introduction to your first step towards nurturing a garden.
Level the soil in the pot provided in the kit and sow the seeds in it. Cover it with the soil mix.
Pour some water. Make sure it’s not too much.
After about a month, when you see the leaves growing, make a bigger, permanent pot or patch of land ready to put this biodegradable pot in.
Make sure the spot gets enough sunlight. Water regularly and you will see the plant growing marvellously.
Why should we have a garden at home?
A garden at home – either in your backyard or your balcony- is a great idea to make your living space greener. The plants provide fresh air and also act as a sound and dirt barrier. Also, nurturing plants is a stress buster. Especially when the plants bear some sweet tomatoes, crunchy cucumbers, and fragrant coriander!
You have your own vegetable farm right in your home!
What is included in the kit?
Every GIY kit by Upaj comes with a biodegradable pot made from coconut husk, a packet of seeds, organic fertiliser to boost the growth of your plants, a planting tag as well as an instruction and observation manual.
You can choose from zinnia cosmos flowers, gaillardia, cucumber, okra, tomato and chilli.
Spend just Rs 200 more and you can choose a larger kit consisting of seeds of either bottle gourd, cherry tomato, spinach, sweet basil, coriander, fenugreek, marigold, or calendula.
Every kit comes with a special guide that tells you how frequently you need to water the plant, the expected growth in a week and a month.
