
Swach Mela, painting exhibition, marathon for a cause and lot more to look forward to this week. Here are five events you should not miss.
1. Art For Concern – Delhi
Art for Concern is an exhibition featuring traditional and folk art, organised by Secure Giving in an attempt to showcase and preserve these indigenous art forms. The exhibition will showcase miniature art in various styles- Madhubani from Bihar, Matani Pachedi from Gujarat, Phad and Pichwai from Rajasthan, Gond from Madhya Pradesh, Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh, Bronzes from Kumbakonam and Kalighat paintings from Kolkata.
The proceeds from the exhibition will go towards Concern India Foundation, a registered, non-profit charitable trust working towards ‘Helping People Help Themselves’ by making the disadvantaged self-reliant and enabling them to lead a life of dignity. Know more.

2. Mumbai Marathon – Mumbai

3. Swach Mela – Telangana
Swach Mela is an event to showcase solutions on urban waste management, for residential communities and non-residential establishments, with focus on decentralised, low cost and community managed solutions. In addition, the event extends the platform to showcase initiatives on urban greencover, water conservation, water and air quality which have a synergy to the overall clean and green initiatives. 4. Lekhana 2015: Narratives of Violence – Bengaluru

Where: Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), 197/36, 2nd Main Road, Sadashivanagar
5. Pichwai Paintings – Chennai
Amethyst Cafe presents an exhibition of Pichwai paintings, commissioned and curated by Pooja Singhal. On display will be intricate works of art executed on cloth or paper illustrate stories from the life of Lord Krishna.
The exhibition aims to revive the Pichwai form, all the participating artists have only used traditional techniques and materials, creating compositions that have been long forgotten.
