One of the many responsibilities that come with adopting a pet is their transportation. Whether it is a quick trip to the vet or a long-distance journey, the safe and secure transportation is a concern for every pet parent.

But if you are a pet parent in or around Bengaluru, you do not have to worry anymore. Gowtham Kumar’s affordable pet cab service is the perfect solution for the city!

Gowtham is a professional videographer who rides a black Avenger bike with a pet carrier attached at the rear. He was inspired to start a pet taxi service after he adopted Chandramouli, a stray pup, and realised that a simple task like taking her to a vet was proving to be tedious. Today, he spends his weekly offs from a hectic media schedule to ferry animals across the city.

Speaking to The Better India, Gowtham said, “I was married, and I had a dog. A crucial time to upgrade your ride. But I could not at the time, so I did the next best thing. Took matters into my own hands and gave the dog carrier a shot.”

The carrier, which can carry a weight of up to 50 kgs, also has a cushioning from inside and is the perfect seat for your pet’s travel needs.

And no, this is not a blind claim. Gowtham had tested it when he took a road trip with Chandramouli!

“She is a wonderful travel companion,” Gowtham told TBI, adding, “She loves the feel of the wind on her face, which is fine as long as I don’t over speed. Moreover, she even has special doggie goggles or ‘doggles’, to protect her eyes.”

Gowtham says that in under a year, he has transported about 50 pets and the feedback from pet parents’ has always been positive. “All the dogs I transported were very friendly, and I got along with them very well,” he tells TBI, adding “Since I provide door to door services, the owners are usually delighted and have no complaints.”

You can be certain that your dog or cat is comfortable as Gowtham rides carefully, taking short breaks whenever the pet needs them. And how much does he charge? Well, you only need to pay for the cost of the fuel!

“I want more people to adopt dogs, and I wanted to help those who struggle with the lack of transport for pets,” he says.

If you too are from Bengaluru and need to transport your pet to the vet, your new home or anywhere else, contact Gowtham on his Facebook page.

Who would have thought of opening a semi-ambulance service for urban pet owners? To many of us who don’t own cars, transporting pets, even in a medical emergency, depends on how pet-friendly our cab driver is. For many, it can be a nightmare.

Unique services like these are what make our lives easier. A packed schedule for the pet transporter is evidence enough that his services are much sought after by pet parents throughout Bengaluru.
