Hero Gurugram Dad Chases Daughter’s Abductors, Saves Her & Gets Them Arrested!

It’s true when they say that movies are inspired by reality. One reads of so many children being abducted day-in-and-day-out.
This story, however, is of an abduction attempt being foiled by a brave father.
According to a Hindustan Times report, a class 10 student was at her friend’s place in Shivaji Nagar, Gurugram, to complete some homework. As she was returning home with her father, an incident involving two boys barely in their 20s left the father-daughter duo shaken.
As they were walking, two men in a car abducted his daughter. Immediately, the father decided to follow the vehicle on his motorbike. Following a chase, he managed to catch up with the car and rescued his daughter, the chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, Shakuntala Dhull, said.
As a result, an FIR was filed against the accused men, under section 8 of the POCSO Act, which corresponds to charges of sexual assault.
In a city like Gurugram, such incidents take place at an alarming frequency. What helps is having vigilant individuals who fight back, report and catch such miscreants.
Shilpa (name changed) and her friend Ratna (name changed) are regular runners who are up and about each morning at 5:30 a.m. One such morning, they encountered two young boys on a bike, who took perverse pleasure in hitting them inappropriately while they were running along their path.
Too stunned to react, the two ladies stopped in their path. A few minutes later, they resumed running when one of them noticed the boys coming back.
Without wasting a moment, the two women not only stopped the bike but also raised an alarm loud enough to attract attention. The police were also quick to reach and the two boys were charged.
The ladies could have very well kept quiet and not reacted. In doing what they did, they not only inspired others but have perhaps scared mischief-makers from indulging in such acts.
