Under normal circumstances, the driver would have dropped his passenger(s) and driven away for the next ride.
In any service-based industry, what helps stand out from the competition is the ability to go that extra mile to make your customer feel special and valued.
This Uber driver named Santosh just won himself many fans on social media and here’s why!
On October 13th, Priyashmita Guha and her mother, took an Uber cab to reach her home. Unfortunately, the gate to the place was shut, and they were forced to wait outside. This happened at around 1 am.
Under normal circumstances, the driver would have dropped his passenger(s) and driven away for the next ride.
What Santosh did goes way beyond his duty. Seeing that the two women were unable to enter the building and considering the late hour, he waited patiently with them for almost 1.5 hours.
In a tweet shared by Priyashmita praising Santosh, she mentions how he even turned down multiple passenger rides saying that he could not possibly leave the two women all alone at night.
In response to Priyashmita’s heartwarming tweet
hey @Uber_India , wanted to tell you about your driver Santosh. Last night the place we were staying had it’s gate was closed. It was 1 AM. He refused to let us go & waited for 1.5 hours till we got in. Kudos to him. Mom and I eternally grateful pic.twitter.com/tIjz9n2A8O
