Those making summer holiday plans will be booking railway tickets in a hurry. Some might even make the error of booking the wrong boarding station. Earlier, getting the station changed would be quite the nightmare. However, the IRCTC has a solution, which will allow you to change your boarding destination, without much hassle.
In cases where you have already booked your ticket, you can log on to your IRCTC accounts and change the boarding station, if need be. This facility is only available for online bookings, not for tickets booked physically at stations.
If you wish to change your boarding destinations, you can do so online, up to around 24 hours before your scheduled journey. In case you have changed your original boarding station, there is no way to revert to it.
If you for any reason, you forget to carry documentation showing the changes, you would have to pay a heavy fine.
Here’s what you should know:-
