Remembered & Honoured: Oscars 2018 Pays Tribute to Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi!
As per Oscar tradition, every year a tribute is paid to the film icons recently departed. This year Bollywood legends Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor were among the remembered!
It’s the biggest night in Hollywood– the Oscars. Amongst the glam and glitter of the Hollywood world, as per Oscar tradition, the famous actors who graced the world with their talent were remembered. However, what made this tribute even more special to the Indian audience, was its remembrance of two departed Bollywood actors, Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi.

Shashi Kapoor, who passed away on December 4th, 2017 was an iconic actor and producer, who acted in over 168 Bollywood films, from Muhafiz, to Junoon. In 2011, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan. You can watch a tribute to the actor below:
Sridevi, whose sudden death is a recent wound in the film industry, was widely regarded as one of the first female superstars in the Bollywood industry. She began her career as a child artist, before rising to prominence in not only the Hindi film industry, but Tamil and Telugu as well. She has over 300 films to her name, and was especially renowned for staging a comeback after a 15 year hiatus. You can watch a tribute to the actor below:
It was heartwarming to see a platform as prestigious as the Oscars, giving the Indian actors a tribute. After all, they entertained millions of people around the world for years!
