Organised by Ramnagar’s local authorities, the mass sweeping event was held at BR Ambedkar College in Bagh Lingampally.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Commissioner commissioner B Janardhan Reddy took an opportunity at the event to appeal to citizens, students, NGOs and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to actively participate in Swachh Survekshan 2018 and help the city clinch the first place.

What is Swacch Survekshan?

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, as part of the ambit of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), is conducting its third survey ‘Swachh Survekshan-2018’ in January-March 2018 covering all cities across India.

The purpose of this survey is to encourage citizen participation and foster a spirit of healthy competition among towns and cities to improve their service delivery to citizens.

Swachh Survekshan aims to get a feedback from citizens about the progress their city has made in achieving Swachhata.

How can Hyderabadis contribute?

Dial 1969.

You may expect questions ranging from the state of public washrooms in your city to GHMC’s methods of garbage disposal.

You have to rate these services within your city and neighbourhood on sanitation standards.

Your honest feedback will play a role in helping your civic authorities further certain programmes and come up with plans of action for problem areas too!
