As reported in the Hindustan Times, ministry officials, targeting over 50,000 campuses, nationwide, wrote that, “It is expected that the facility is to be provided by telecom service and internet service providers at their own cost. There shall be no financial implications to the institution.”

Some telecom providers have already expressed interest in this project, which is a part of a larger plan to create digital campuses across India.

For students, free Wi-Fi ensures quick access to academic information, class schedules, and the ability to connect with their peers. Furthermore, smart education techniques can be at the fingertips of anyone and anywhere, which increases digital inclusion.
