Gulgul put his own life at risk, to save his family's.
Only those of us with a dog can understand the comfort, security, unconditional love and warmth—along with the goofy behaviour and games—that they bring into our lives.
Dogs often form unbreakable bonds with their owners, and in some cases, they save their lives as well!

On Sunday, Gulgul, an Indie dog who was adopted by Surajit Roy, came to his family’s rescue, when goons raided Roy’s home in Kasba, a locality in Kolkata, and tried to fire at his mother when she raised an alarm.
The alert canine jumped on one of the men, spoiling his aim, and saved the lady’s life. He then began to bark and did not stop till he chased the men out of the house.
The men were there to settle a property dispute and would have set the house on fire had it not been for Gulgul, who put his life on the line for his family.
Neighbours, children, distant relatives and others have been pouring into Roy’s home, with food and gifts for Gulgul.

The dog was oblivious to the praise, and was nervous and edgy the whole of Sunday, said Roy’s wife to the Times of India. On Monday, she treated Gulgul to a meal of mutton liver with rice and a piece of cake, for his extraordinary act of bravery.
