Noble Effort! These Kids Donated Their Pocket Money to Refurbish a Govt School

when a government primary school near Kalyan Nagar in Bengaluru, needed repairs, four children who came forward to help, by donating their pocket money towards the school’s needs.

Nidhi Shankar Reddy, a pre-university student, Neha Reddy an SSLC student, Dhruva Reddy a Class 4 student and Deekhshitha Reddy, a Class 8 student collectively saved around Rs 1.5 lakh, to spend on development work for the school.

The school has received a new lease of life, with a new toilet, and freshly painted benches and classrooms.

It was Nidhi’s domestic help’s son, who told her about the school’s poor condition. Nidhi decided to do something and roped in her siblings for the cause.

Their parents did not have any idea about this gesture and only found out when some teachers from the school informed them about it.

Nidhi told the Times of India that it was the concern or lack of facilities for needy students, that moved them to the cause. She reflected and realised that unlike her and the others, the less-fortunate students would not have access to necessary facilities. That is what prompted them to save their pocket money, and donate it for the school’s needs.
