Two young and bright minds are using technology and local knowledge to give tours of one the largest slums in the world, Dharavi, the way they have seen it - from the inside! Watch their amazing spirit of enterprise as they journey from having an idea to setting up a website, having an office and providing employment to local youth.
They say don’t judge a book by its cover and they couldn’t be more right. When we think about Dharavi, one of the largest slums in the world, all we usually think of is poverty and mess. But have you ever wondered what it would be like to live here? And, how does the inside of the slum look like?
Two childhood friends who have spent their entire life there came up with an interesting idea to show the ‘real’ Dharavi to the outside world. Having started with just an idea, their initiative “Be The Local” now has an office of its own and provides employment to youth inside the slum! They give you a never-seen-before look at Dharavi, and show you that as a hub of industries and a box of happiness and precious moments, Dharavi is much more than just the largest slum in Mumbai.
