If you acquired your engineering degree from any of these colleges/universities, don’t panic. Here’s what you can do to validate your degree:

The Supreme Court has directed the All India Council of Technical Education to re-conduct examinations for all of you.

And even though AICTE will analyse the data on students to reveal the format and date of the examination, it is expected to conduct it latest by January 15, 2018.

All students who want to validate their degrees will have to register online for the examination that may be set along the lines of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE.

Students who clear the examination successfully will be reinstated. But for those who fail to clear them would lose their degrees.

All students will get a maximum of 2 tries to clear the examination. So, if you failed to qualify in the first try, you have an alternative, but only one last chance to try again.

Failure to clear the examination the mentioned attempts, in addition to making their degrees redundant will also lead to revoking all advantages that the student received on the basis of that degree. This includes the job acquired by such a degree.

Though your earnings from that job won’t be recovered, your job will stand suspended.

Students also have the option of choosing to not write the test. But in such a case, their engineering degrees and all benefits from the degree will be cancelled including their jobs to that degree.

The job and all related financial benefits will only be reinstated if the candidates clear the examination.
