Cramps & Discomfort Aside, You Can Use Periods to Your Advantage! Here’s How

There are different phases of every menstrual cycle, and each of them have something good to offer.

Cramps & Discomfort Aside, You Can Use Periods to Your Advantage! Here’s How

Ladies, if we told you you could use menstruation to your advantage, you’d probably think we’re crazy.

But we’re not kidding when we say that every stage of your menstrual cycle has something good to offer, except, of course, the discomfort and cramps. But let’s talk about the good stuff.

A menstrual cycle can be divided into four phases – menstrual phase (Day 1 to 5), follicular phase (Day 1 to 13), ovulation phase (Day 14) and luteal phase (Day 15 to 28). Your body goes through a lot of changes during this cycle, some of which aren’t all that bad.

The follicular phase is when estrogen level increases. Your skin is ‘glowy’, and it is the best time to apply cosmetic products. But don’t go overboard with moisturising products, as this is when your skin gets oily as well.

The time when you shed weight – wait for it – fast!

The follicular phase is the best time to shed weight. You can alternate between physical activity and dieting, but also get sufficient hours of sleep for better results.

And no, you’re not going to turn into Tyra Banks magically, and neither is it something you should aim for. Just saying!

The time when your sex drive gets ramped up!

The follicular and also the luteal phase is when you’re low on energy but high on sex drive. This is the best time to, you know, have sex. But the luteal phase also comes with a lot of mood swings, bad temper and loss of appetite – except for sexual appetite of course. But good luck handling both!

The ovulation stage is when your energy levels aren’t at their best. This is a very good time for yoga and breathing exercises. You’ll also find yourself yearning for a heart-to-heart with your partner or a good friend.

That time when you’ll ace every interview (and initiate conversations with strangers)

Along with a fantastic sex drive, the follicular phase will also increase your impulsiveness. This is due to the increase in testosterone during this phase.

You will want to make new friendships, and it is also a great time to go for interviews and presentations. Plus, your flirting game will be on point!
