What is Macrame?
Cotton or silk threads are weaved in knots to form beautiful patterns. Some of the earliest known records of Macrame belong to the ancient Babylon and Assyria kingdoms (near today’s Iran, Iraq and Egypt). Over the centuries, it travelled to Arab kingdoms, to Spain, Italy etc. It is recorded that sailors, in their free time, would engage in weaving Macrame decor. This is one way how the craft more or less circumnavigated the earth.
It looks beautiful, can be woven into home decor, table cloth, apparel and accessories. Now, you can learn the craft yourself and uplift your home with handmade Macrame!
