Association for Rural and Urban Needy (ARUN) works with marginalised communities in urban and rural areas particularly with Dalits, Safai Karmacharis, children without adult care and distressed communities that are victims of homelessness; by establishing supportive caring systems that will ensure freedom from hunger, violence and deprivation and enable a life of peace, social integration, harmony and dignity. ARUN acts as the coordinating agency between RFI and our partners spread across 8 cities who implement the Rainbow Homes for girls and Sneh Ghar for boys. It is also an implementing agency ensuring that the day-to-day management of homes, its rules and policies adhere to larger principles and specifications of the Rainbow Home model across the country. ARUN provides statutory and legal support for RFI.

Travel : Extensive outstation travel

Responsibilities
• Lead the development and execution of fundraising strategies supporting national efforts
• Responsible for channelizing funds to support local offices’ work and cover own administrative costs
• Establish corporate relations protocols and co-manage corporate relationships
• Maintain relationships with donors as Lead Account Manager
• Develop an integrated resource mobilization strategy that contributes to the delivery of the overall Rainbow Homes fundraising strategy
• Execute the strategy timely and through skilful deployment of resources
• Manage all day-to-day activities that contribute to mobilization of resources, including brand building, communication & publicity, events, merchandising and donor management
• Nurture existing relationships and constantly expand current network of donors by tapping into local organisations, foundations, HNI’s and foreign corporations
• Prescribe, lead and conduct market research and marketing initiatives to assess donor priorities and identify opportunities for resource mobilization
• Create an external support network of professionals to augment performance of the in-house team and minimize costs
• Ensure documentation of all procedures, donor details, reports, etc.
• Contribute to growth and development of Rainbow Homes through participation and continuous appraisal of the existing fundraising strategy

Experience
Must Haves:
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in a foundation or a non-profit organisation with a significant portion of this experience in organizing and directing major fundraising programs
• Well versed with new age fundraising techniques especially using digital media
• Strategic thinking and results driven individual with strong business acumen
• Proven facilitation, mediation and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated experience at networking, retaining partnerships as well as creating new relationships so as to expand the existing network. Enjoy building positive relationships with a wide range of individuals
• Ability to represent Rainbow Foundation India in professional forums
• Strong communications skills including presentation, proposal and report writing for the specific purpose of fund raising. Adroit in written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferable:
• Knowledge of policy making, grant making / non-profit work environment in India
• Some amount of experience in fundraising in the international context would be strongly desirable
• Strong desire to make a difference by working in the not-for-profit sector for children who were formerly on the streets
