“My Training Hasn’t Taught Me to Be Weak” IPS Officer Berated by Politician Stands up for Herself

Assistant Superintendent of Police Charu Nigam’s powerful message has gone viral with supporters commending her strength.

A video of verbal tiff between between an IPS officer and a politician caught on camera went viral recently when the officer was seen wiping tears from her eyes after the fight.

As the video continues to dominate the news cycle, the police officer in question wants to make one thing clear – her tears are not weakness.

ASP Charu Nigam has taken to her Facebook account to set the record straight about whether or not she burst into tears after she was allegedly berated by a politician. However, she says that her training to be an officer had prepared her well to handle any situation.

It wasn’t the fight that reduced her to tears but rather the support from her superior.

She writes, “My training hasn’t taught me to be weak. I just did not expect that my SP city Ganesh Saha Sir would outrightly reject the irrational argument and talk about my injury. Before sir came, I was the seniormost officer in police there but when sir came and stood by the force, I got emotional.”

Additionally, she has also requested the public to stay calm about the episode and has noted that she is perfectly fine. The post has since gone viral garnering over 19,000 Likes and being shared more than 3,000 times in a span of 24 hours.

Well wishers have also flooded the comments section with words of support.

कठोरता से नहीं कोमलता से अश्क झलक गये।

To everyone who has turned up in my support:
My training hasn’t taught me to be weak. I just did not expect that my SP city Ganesh Saha Sir would outrightly reject the irrational argument and talk about my injury. Before sir came, I was the seniormost officer in police there but when sir came and stood by the force, I got emotional .
Media has taken this stand because everyone of them saw both the incidents and this shows the positivity of media in Gorakhpur. I am thankful to them to have shown the truth with least manipulation .
I believe that good gets good and that’s why I have got the support of the media .
Please stay calm! I am fine and slightly hurt. Nothing to be agitated or worried about .
Regards
Charu
