Indian Post will soon make life easier for office goers in Mumbai as it will deliver e-commerce parcels in the late evening too. The parcels will be delivered till 8 pm at your doorsteps. Here’s more.
No more missing parcel deliveries just because you were at office and there was no one at your place to receive it -postmen will now deliver them at your doorstep after office hours as well. Very soon you won’t have to go through the trouble of picking it later from the nearest post office.
From next week, India Post will start the delivery of e-commerce goods during late afternoon and early evening till 8 pm in Mumbai.
This is being done so that families who go to office every day and return late can get the delivery as per their convenience.
India post has already established its e-commerce parcel processing unit in Mumbai and will cover areas like Bandra-Khar-Santacruz and Chembur-Ghatkopar. Most of the e-commerce orders are made from Mumbai suburbs, and that is why the service is being launched in these areas first.
Postmen will deliver parcels through a mechanised delivery process on a pilot basis. After this, even speed post letters will be delivered till 8 pm.
