Do you believe that honesty is dead in India? That the country is only ridden with corruption – be it in the government, the administration or the judiciary, and nothing can be done about it? Well, we have something here to prove you wrong!

Watch this video to see a woman officer in the Bulandshahar district of Uttar Pradesh publicly take to task the contractors and civic officials who have been involved in a shoddy road construction job.

B Chandrakala, the District Magistrate of Bulandhshahar, is no stranger to taking tough stands and bringing corrupt officers to justice. She was transferred from her earlier post as DM of Mathura for not looking the other way and for standing up against illegal practices. Now she continues her good work at Bulandshahar.

Here she is seen pulling up kind of people who usually get away with poor quality work in most parts of India. You will want to give her a standing ovation when you hear her shout, “Have some morality. It is clearly dead in you. You should be ashamed.” Because this is what you have wanted to say all these years!

After this public dressing down, three contractors were booked, one of them being the brother of a member of the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. We salute such brave and sincere officers who restore our faith in the Indian democracy and give us hope for the future. May your tribe grow!
